Spanish Town - 10 Months

Hello everyone!
This week was a long week.  A lot of the investigators dropped us. So, we have been finding a lot. people in spain town are soo weird. We were riding down the road, and this rastaman walks in front of us, does a 360 then just walks away. It was soooo weird. We think there is something in the water, haha. Nothing to exciting happened. The new shorts fit. I would rather get shoes from America  because all the ones here are fake. Spanish town is weird there are nice places and poor places. It is nothing like anywhere in America. Our house is kind of weird. There is a yard with other people living in it.  We did find some cool people this week, so hopefully they progress. That is all for this week.
I love you all,
Elder Davis

(Brodey lost his internet connection while he was trying to send pictures. We didn't even get to say goodbye this week. We may get them later, hopefully)

Crime Scene/ Video - Spanish Town, Jamaica

Hello everyone!

This week was good. We met President Pearson on Tuesday. He is a really good guy. When we got back to Spain Town our bicycles were in a crime scene. We are not sure what happened, but we could get our bicycles for a couple of hours. So, that was crazy. The rest of the week was good. We got the house more clean, and we are finding some new people to teach. It rained for the first time since I've been here, today. I got Grandpa's package and your (mom) package. We did the jelly bean game. They tasted soooo nasty. We ate most of them, and then we gave them to the dogs. But they wouldn't eat them haha. The toothpaste flavor tasted pretty good though. That is about how my week went. The ward is struggling, but i have to go now. I love you tell everyone that I love them!

I'm getting stuff for a package. I'm going to send bag juice and jamaican soda. I'll send some ginger beer also.
I got two letters from Grandma Linda. I am going to put something for her in the package.

Lots of Pictures & New Companion!

Hello everyone!
Things in Jamaica are good, it has been hot the past couple of weeks. the biggest news for this week is that i have a new companion. Elder Wilson went home early. So, I am with Elder Galbraith. He is pretty cool. We are basically restarting the area. We found some cool people to teach, and we are starting to work on the ward. It is struggling. President Pearson is now in action. We get to meet him on Tuesday, so that will be fun. The dogs in the yard are our neighbors. That is a little taste of how my week went.
I love you all,
Elder Davis

We are cleaning the disgusting house today.
My new companion is from Boise. I got Spencer and Jenn's package this week.
I am good. Some days are hard, but it's fun talking to all the people and helping people.

Faith - Spanish Town, Jamaica

The people here are pretty genuine. A lot of the members here are kind of lazy, but there are a lot of really cool ones. Bro Harrison is a teacher and there is one that is curator for the Jamaican Money Museum. The shoes I bought are kind of small, but they should work. If anything, I'll buy some here it is cheaper. There are three dogs in our yard the are getting ticks. I pulled off some of the big ones. They are named Chancho, Tinkink, and Rachel. I'll get pictures of them next week. The investigators are going kind of slow. Brother Anderson was supposed to get baptized on the third, but there is some problem with his water bill that is stressing him out. He wants his life to be perfect before baptism, and he has no faith that the Lord will help him if he gets baptized. We are going to go build his faith hard core next time we see him. That is a little piece of my week.
I love you all,
Elder Davis

We help the members do family history, either in there home or at the church. There are jerk stands everywhere. I'll take a picture this week. I have to go now. I love you. Tell ever one i said "Hi".

I wish I could have been at the funeral. She(his great grandma) is watching over all of us now.

Jerk Fridays! - Spanish town, Jamaica

Hello everyone,
This week was good. There were a few days where every one of our appointments fell through. So, we went finding like all day. It was crazy. I had chicken foot on Thursday. It wasn't that bad just a lot of bones. It was in a stew that was really good. I bought a big stick of cane. It looks like bamboo, and you peel it, then chew. On the inside, it's super sweet. We are teaching a owner of a cook shop, an old guy that is blind in one eye, and a guy in the ghetto that is kind of depressed. He is 37 and has 6 kids and 2 grand children so that is interesting. They are all really solid. Mission president Brown rode my bike in the church today. haha. Everyone loves the giant seat. That is how my week went. People here have trouble with the Book of Mormon, and that is what they are the most interested in. They either hate it or love it.
I love you all,
Elder Davis

I am not in the scary area. We have the nice area. There are mansions in part of our area. All of the pastors live there

I am good.

put this on my blog-> Every Friday is Friday jerk night. So we buy jerk chicken every Friday.
I invite everyone to read the scripture Moroni 10:3-5 and do what it says.

9 Months Out - Murderers, Gangs, People have Tough Lives

Hello everyone.
This week flew by. Time is really flying by. Stake Conference was great. I saw a bunch of people from Portmore so that was awesome. I didn't see DJ and Akkeem, but i saw their mom there. There were two 70s that came from Salt Lake so that was pretty cool. There were so many people that they made all the missionaries sit on the floor in the primary room. haha Rosa parks type stuff. haha jk. Oh ya and we are teaching a murderer. Well we are not anymore. He is just 15 and he got affiliated with a gang. I guess the gang said either one of them could live, or they would kill them both. So he killed his friend. so ya fun stuff. It makes a crazy story to tell, but on the other side of things we have a lot of really cool people that we are working with. We have a bunch set for baptisms. There are some hills. I think I am loosing weight. So that's good. That's a little about my week.

I love you all
Elder Davis

Ya,there are a lot of gangs. The gangs  like the missionaries, so they protect us all over the island. Ya, that was insane i couldn't believe it when he told us.

I am good. It is hot here though. I am constantly sweating bullets.

No mail this week. The members feed us every Thursday and Monday.

My two favorite members from Portmore, Donald and Patrick

Hectic Week! - Spanish Town, Jamaica

 Hello Everyone!
It's Pday once again. This week was good hectic, but good. I am on the outskirts of Spain town. So, that is good it is pretty bushy. I tried jack fruit for the first time this week, and I had my first real Jamaican jerk chicken. We found a guy that does voodoo and stuff. haha It has been a good week. I was sick on Wednesday my stomach was upset. So, i thought i was just going to sleep for like an hour, but when i woke up it was like 6 at night. oops! I feel a lot better. Over all it has been a good week this week.

I love you all!
Elder Davis

My companion is good. He is not from Utah so thats good, haha. He is from Texas.

No mail yet.

I think i am going to get sunglasses. today but ya im good. I sent a package to you last Pday. It was sent by surface so idk how long it will take.

The apartment is kind of gross. We have to flush the toilet with a clothes hanger the water is cold. Other than that its pretty good.

I have some weird shoes. Yes Spain Town is interesting. At least im not in town. I'm outside of it.

Sometimes there are places we cant go, but we have the nice area. There are 10 elders in Spanish town.

No, I dont really need anything. We are going to play some board games later.
